Ngāi Tahu had received feedback that parents needed more resources to help support Te Reo in the home. They decided to update an existing but outdated resource. A team of freelancers was assembled and we suggested a complete remake and worked as a team to create something that surpassed the original. New illustrations with more colour and energy were drawn. Full audio dialogue was recorded. Animation and "Easter eggs" were added to reward exploration. I developed the app in Flash (as3) and new functionality was introduced allowing the finished book to be saved for viewing later, printed out at home, or watched in its entirety.
